Starfest 2012

How chic it is to be a geek! It is Tuesday and I am still recovering from the awesome time I had at StarFest in Denver. Of course you knew what was going to happen when you put zombies, superheroes and Star Wars fans together in one hotel, one hell of good time.

Friday was when it started; we got there at six in the morning for the press coverage. I knew that I had some people lined up to talk to. I was fortunate to talk with J.G. Hertzler and Robert O’Reilly. Oh man, that was so cool! We sat down and talked for hours, as if we were old friends. We laughed and talked about being on a pioneer show like Star Trek. I will admit, that this had to be one of my best interviews I have ever done. These two gentlemen are not only talented, but charismatic as well.

Could it have gotten any better?

Along comes David Prowse. An athlete, actor, cancer survivor, and much more. Still doesn’t ring a bell for you? 35 years ago this man set the standard for being an evil genius. Mr. Prowse was the person in the Darth Vader costume that has graced many a person’s doorsteps on Halloween. He shared with me some of his thoughts and feeling about the icon that is Star Wars. As an added plus he gave me some insight on how he received the role of his royal badness. Just when I thought the weekend couldn’t get any better. I got my photo taken with Mr. Prowse. Now I can say the force is strong with this one.

The rest of my days at the convention were filled with the dealer rooms. Plenty of “Doctor Who” merchandise was found there. I also attended seminars over my favorite shows. Saturday night was the costume contest that lead into the Federation ball. The amount of time on these people hands put me to shame. The costumes were great! It was clear that a lot of time and money went into the creation of these costumes. I am glad that I wasn’t a judge, because picking first place must have been a difficult decision.

My weekend was complete when I was outside getting some fresh air and taking some pictures to my youngest dancing, when; Jonthan Frakes. John Noble, and the Jewel Staite walk out right behind me. That is one for the family photo album!

My night at the Stanley Hotel

This Friday I will be playing my interview with Billy Tolley of GAC (Ghost adventures crew). I am pleased on how our interview went. May I add he was a very nice guy. So many time you meet people who have been on TV, who are just full of themselves. I found that Mr. Tolley was a very down to Earth. Plus he adds many stories of adventures into the paranormal.

The Stanley Hotel. If you live in the Denver area and have not taken your own adventure up to this beautiful place…. WHAT”S WRONG WITH YOU! For me seeing this place, was right up there with seeing the ocean for the first time. Breath-taken as well as majestic. To see it during the day is as much fun as seeing it at night. There are plenty of stories to be heard of who, what and when of the hotel. Let me tell you that there was a lot of freaky stories that I heard about what went on.

Then there was a screening of the movie, “Children of the Grave” from the Producer/directors, the Booth Brothers. I couldn’t get a interview with them. As I attend the party that was held after the screen, I was approached by one of them and asked, “Sorry we couldn’t give you an interview, but your coming to the presidential suite for the after party, right?”

Of course I did what any person in my place, would do….. I WENT!

Thanks to The Stanley Hotel for inviting us up there. Thanks to Billy Tolley for the awesome interview and thanks goes to the “Booth Brothers”, for making feel like a rock star at their party.

Hey peeps, what’s happening? Just wanted put the drop in about a new segment happening on the show. It’s called, “Clearing the Air with Joe on the Radio.” I know what you are thinking; it’s some sort new-age music thing. It’s not, I’ll be talking about the many issues surrounding the use of medical marijuana. I’ll be covering the following issues:

To Dispensary
the average Joe on the street

I look forward to any questions you might have dealing with the medical marijuana.

My new Co-host.

So tell us...

I always wanted to start a blog off with that saying that. Okay, I am a nerd. So, if you listen to the show for the last couple of weeks you’ve been hearing that we (yes, I said we) revamped the show just a little. There is a little bit better based to the show now. Also you might have notice that I have new Co-host.

Miss “Z” brings in a new type of spirit to the show. Just like fine art, she is very easy on the eyes. That’s a blessing and a plus, which I am happy with. Don’t let her pretty looks fool you. She can chew and spit with the best of any male, I know. That should say a lot.

I will admit that I am very picky of asking any body to join me on the show. Trust me that there has been a lot of people that have join me on the show as a potential co-host. And if you were a regular listener, you would know that I go through a lot of co-host. I like some one that brings a fresh out look on life. Someone that knows what I like to talk about and gives it a female twist to it.

Since I meet up with Miss “Z”, there hasn’t been a time that made me think that she won’t fit well in this program. I wish everyone had a co-worker, they work with that they are happy with. Once they found that right part of the puzzle piece that makes going to work enjoyable, well you know how I feel.

so, please help me and give a thanks to Miss “Z” on coming on the show. The show did need her to kick it up a notch.

October is……

October is……

So, if you listen to my show you know that Halloween is my favorite time of the year. It ‘s a time to go out there and scare the crap out of someone. Then treat them with a gift of candy. You can’t go wrong with that.

Boo, this comes at the end of the month. Wish everyday in October was Halloween.

For some reason there is more happening in October then I used to seeing.

Did you know its also Nation cyber security awareness, or national Dental hygiene month? Go figure all the sugar you can eat at the end of the month. How about National Audiology Awareness Month & National Protect Your Hearing Month. Thank goodness this is in July. How about National Arts and Humanities Month, so don’t forget to get up and dance some time during the month.

While dancing around, how about cheese. Yes October is American cheese month. Try giving a grilled cheese out as a trick or treat prize. Really who can resist a hot melt cheese sandwich? Maybe your dog might. Did you know October is Animal month or Spina Bifida awareness month? Make sure you check just not your dog or cat spine; also check your babies’ spine as well. Speaking about babies, did you know it is also Down syndrome awareness month along with vaccine injury awareness? While at it, October is also emotional intelligence awareness month. (I guess mine came sooner then I thought).

And from FEMP it’s seemed that there is energy awareness month as well.

But to be honest with you, what can you do in the dark… yep October is also National breast cancer awareness month. Yep guys, this is your only time you can cop-a-feel any time of the day and if she looks at you strange… just tell her that it was for her health. Just try to say it with a straight face.

So enjoy October with a grilled cheese, patrol the Internet with the lights out and check your partners ta—tas. Remember you can’t spell Boobies with out a little boo!

ahh, he beat me to it…..

Ok, So if you listen to the show, you know that every once in while I’ll talk about dong something really bad. From the power of teaching my son how to say “HUBBA HUBBA”, to a pretty lady, to my own little mess ups in life.

It’s a very tender time in my house hold for my wife’s grandfather is in hospice.I remember the time when my own grandfather was in this state and how all my family gather around him to pay their respects.

I admitted just recently to my grandmother, that I felt it was me that pushed him over to the other side. she reassured me that it wasn’t my fault.So let us fast forward to the present time. My house hold is all in love with the ghost reality shows. You know the type that go into old houses of building and look for stuff that goes bump in the night. We even got as far as putting “ghost app” on our smart-phones. I now that just a waste of memory, but you just never know.

As my wife called me to talk about how her grandfather was in a state of passing away. She told me that my twelve year son was with her. I am pretty sure that it was hard for my son to see everyone crying and seeing the man who used to fuss on how he didn’t want anybody in his kitchen, while he cooked Sunday brunch for the whole family.

My son did, what he thought was the best thing to do. He asked if he could get up and leave the room. Everyone was touch to see this. While he was walking out he asked his mother for her phone.was she thinking that he was going to call me and talk to me about what he was seeing.

HECK NO!

He jumped on the phone and turn on the “ghost app”. When his mother came out to see if he was doing, yeah he got in trouble with her. I found out couple days later. but darn it… he beat me to it.

Curt… you will be missed by that guy.
